United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby sent out a “Letter to the Public” this week trying to reassure the public that flying with his airline is safe. Kirby writes, “You can be confident that every time a United plane pulls away from the gate, everyone on our team is working together to keep you safe on your trip.”
Sending out a letter like that wouldn’t have been necessary if planes weren’t breaking apart mid-air. The FAA is promising more oversight of Boeing and their suppliers.
