FOOD NEWS CHICK-FIL-A BEING ATTACKED BY NY
The TRUTH about Food and Travel
Original Broadcast Date:  12/23/2023

Elizabeth has the latest “Food News” that includes a story about which she and Michael apparently disagree.

Chick-Fil-A has been selling chicken sandwiches by the side of the road since 1946, and everyone knows they are closed on Sundays.  Over the years, the restaurant has signed agreements with the state of New York to place its  restaurants in ten locations along the 569 mile NY Thruway.  NY transportation officials knew the restaurants were closed on Sundays, but because there were other restaurants at those ten locations, there’s never been a critical word spoken.  Now as the NY State Thruway is being rebuilt including rest areas that contain those ten Chick-Fil-A restaurants, lawmakers are suddenly concerned that people are NOT getting their fair share of Chick-Fil-A sandwiches on Sundays.  Legislation has been introduced that would force any restaurant operating on state grounds to be open seven days a week.

Proponents say Chick-Fil-A provides an affordable option to travelers, and that it must be available seven days a week.  Opponents argue that Chick-Fil-A is being targeted for its stance regarding social issues.

You decide.
