Elizabeth has a story from Chicago that isn’t what it appears on the surface. As the police and judicial system in that city are being ordered to stand down, crime is rampant. Families are moving to the suburbs, businesses are closing, taxes are rising and inner city grocery stores are closing. The residents who remain find themselves living in a “food desert.” Now comes the mayor with a plan that would have the city of Chicago own grocery stores in those neighborhoods, placing food closer to the people who need it.
As we’ve shown in previous programs, the USDA and the federal government have put themselves in complete control of the food chain; from the time a seed is purchased by a farmer, till the time your trash is monitored for food waste.
The mayor’s suggestion of having the city own the grocery stores is yet another step in that agenda and we feel it’s a terrible idea.
