Here is what’s changed on the organic banana label.

This Is Not Your Typical Food and Travel Show

Michael Serio, Executive Producer

What’s Changed on the Organic Banana Label? – In other words, does the USDA Organic label mean ANYTHING anymore? Apparently, not. Therefore, Dole doesn’t appear to be using it.

We’ve found yet another example of a company that may be leaning in favor of “begging for forgiveness, rather than asking for permission.” when it comes to their food labeling.

Earlier this year, Dole organic bananas won us over with their unique “Farm Selector” program that included a three digit code on the label.  For instance, the code indicated the exact farm where the fruit was grown. That is exactly the level of transparency we expect.  In addition,  the bananas on the shelf seem to be labeled differently.
