The White House is patting itself on the back for negotiating a deal between the railroad industry and its frontline workers.  But this is NOT a done deal!  This issue was not settled, and Elizabeth tells why this yet another attempt to “kick the can down the road.”  If indeed railroad workers do walk off the job, there will be dire consequences for the transportation of food products nationwide.  This is NOT to be taken lightly and over the next few months, we’ll keep watching for signs that this tentative deal will collapse.

About elizabethd

Elizabeth Dougherty has been cooking and writing about food intensively for more than ten years. She is the fourth generation of chefs and gourmet grocers in her family with her mother, Francesca Esposito and grandmother, Carmella being major influences in her early cooking years. As a teenager, her family sent her to Europe where she became focused on French and Italian cuisine.
