Tour Guide: Elizabeth Dougherty

Elizabeth takes us to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Kansas.  In 1958, President Eisenhower signed the bill that created NASA, but why?  What did Ike know that prompted the hasty creation of an entire agency dedicated to space exploration and defense?  Included in this episode of Destination Unknown, you’ll hear a clip from interview Elizabeth conducted with Ike’s great-granddaughter, Laura who had some interesting thoughts about life on the planet Mars.
