Destination Unknown – Oak Ridge TN

Destination: Unknown
Tour Date:  08/22/2020
Tour Guide: Elizabeth Dougherty

Elizabeth takes us to “the secret city” of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  In 1942, the Manhattan Project was put into operation at a huge facility hidden in a small, mountain town behind a tall fence.  Employees there were not told what they were making but the government knew!  Today the site is part of the American Museum of Science and Energy and is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Knoxville area.

Enjoy!
