Top 10 tips for hosting a football party!

Every year Americans gather to watch the BIG game!

Here are some tips for you if you are hosting your own party.

1. Get a keg of decent beer. It’s just easier and it will impress your guests. Also have sodas, water, a couple wines and juice (for the kids) available. The clearer the drink choices, the better off your carpet will be.

2. Use nice but disposable plates, “glasses” and napkins in a football theme.

3. Round out your menu with the old favorites and some new things for your guests to try. Don’t leave out the nachos, dip and wings. Try my skirt steak recipe and/or the beer cheese soup for something different.

4. Make sure there are enough chairs for people to sit down while they eat.

5. Set up your food “buffet-style”

6. Make all your dishes ahead of time (a day or two) and heat them up for the event. It’s a lot less stress.

7. Clean up the house. Put all unnecessary items away. It’s a nice touch to put team-colored candles in the bathroom

8. Have other snacks around the house in bowls, like assorted nuts, chips and pretzels.

9. Set up the area around the television by moving the furniture, if necessary, to make sure there is adequate seating for those who wish to watch and not mingle so much.

10. Put a portable radio or television on your porch or patio so your guests can talk outside and still hear the game.
