Here’s the best of what I ate this weekend

This weekend turned out to be one of those weekends where I had a lot of things to do and had the opportunity to eat some great food along the way. Here are some of my picks for places to go and things to try.

Capitol Grill
Definitely try the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Nirvana.
Savannah’s
The Crab Chowder had lump crab in it and was a tasty starter. Their mussels from PEI were also very tender, perfectly cooked with a nice jus for dipping the bread sticks into.
Max and Sam’s
The filet tips with parmesan and garlic; so tender and the perfect snack.
Mike’s Pies
You can buy these at Sweetbay or Fresh Market. The Key Lime has won some awards. It was a real taste of Florida.
Alessi Bakery
The Princess Cake. Wow. Chocolate with a fluffy chocolate chiffon and a little ganache.
Season’s 52
On their seasonal menu, the tiger shrimp dish with some penne and seasonal vegetables. It was hard to believe the low calorie-count.
Messineo’s
If you have not tried their fresh pasta tortellini (some house-made and some from Italy) you are missing out. They also import a tiramisu from Italy (it comes with the glass) that is richer and more flavorful than any I have tried.
